Dennis O’Brien in court over £166m cocaine plot - Liverpool Local News - News - Liverpool Echo: "Dennis O’Brien, who gave his name as Dennis Kelly, appeared at Liverpool magistrates’ court yesterday.

He was arrested on the Costa Del Sol just before Christmas on a European Arrest Warrant after a joint operation by the British Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and Spanish police.

Dressed in a black T-shirt, O’Brien, 61, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and to say he currently had no fixed address.

He stands charged with between January and November 2005, conspiring with others to unlawfully supply a controlled drug of Class A.

The charge relates to 1.6 tonnes of cocaine with a street value of £166m.

District Judge Richard Clancy remanded O’Brien, who is formerly from Garston, in custod.

A plea and case management hearing will be held at Liverpool Crown Court on April 20."
