"HMIC point to the fact that Gibraltar's high incidence of drug and smuggling cases could be indicative of an underlying potential for serious organised crimes in Gibraltar. HMIC recommends that the RGP review its approach to organised criminality and organised crime groups.
Although it is not clear if the RGP'S 'acute lack of training in the field of crime' as indicated in the report could be a contributing factor to a situation where this important area of modern crime has not been effectively tackled by the RGP?
Again this is another key area of policing where Panorama has had quite a bit to say over recent years, particularly the increase in serious crime! We have frequently warned of the dangers of rising crime in general. But particularly in relation to the drugs problem getting out of control and being taken to another level."
