Trial adjourned for Civil Guard accused of taking backhanders at Málaga Airport: "Seventeen Civil Guard officers were due to go on trial at the Málaga provincial court this Monday, over backhanders allegedly received from passengers at the airport in return for turning a blind eye to Customs controls on foodstuffs.
The court has however decided, on appeal from some of the accused, that the case should be heard by a jury and has returned it to the instruction judge who carried out the investigations. It’s understood from EFE that the argument is that the main crime is bribery, which falls under the Juries Law."
