British woman dies on Ibiza after taking ecstasy
20 year old British woman, named with the initials J.N., has died in Ibiza after taking ecstasy. It was at 5am on Wednesday morning that the woman was rushed to the main Can Misses hospital on the island from a discotheque.
She was admitted with arrhythmia and suffered a heart attack, but did not respond to treatment and has died.
Friends say that she had taken ecstasy at a disco on the Playa d’en Bossa area of the town, and this is being considered the most probable cause of death, although the hospital authorities are underlining that this cannot be confirmed until the autopsy is carried out.
The death has reopened the debate on the nature of tourism on the island, where 68% of tourists admit that the night-life is the main attraction.
