Five British people have been arrested in a Guardia Civil operation in Castell de Castells, AIicante

Five British people have been arrested in a Guardia Civil operation in Castell de Castells, AIicante which has resulted in the dismantling of what is described as a ‘large and important’ marihuana plantation, and a laboratory where the plants were prepared for distribution and sale.

46 kilos of marihuana buds and 100 kilos of plants were recovered from the plantation which is estimated to have contained some 300 plants which had grown to a height of three metres.

The Guardia Civil say that both the plantation and the house used as a laboratory were in an isolated and mountainous landscape which was difficult to reach. One of the rooms in

the property was used to dry the plants and had a powerful illumination system used to speed up the drying process.

The Britons were caught ‘in fraganti’ as they were preparing the drug for sale, and they will all face charges of a crime against public health, the expression used in Spain for drug trafficking.
They have been named with the initials, 20 year old S.H., 37 year old M.B., 28 year old K.J.C, 37 year old C.A.D, and 25 year old R.E.P.
