POLICE on the Costa del Sol are investigating after a mystery Brit was shot by a gunman on a scooter – but fled before an ambulance arrived to treat him.
Horrified holidaymakers enjoying the sunshine in millionaires’ playground Marbella witnessed the shooting – which is suspected to be gang-related.
The lone gunman fired two shots, hitting the man, described as middle-aged and British, in the leg.
But before paramedics arrived, a man picked up the victim in a 4X4 and sped off.
Local police said: “We’ve checked all the hospitals but have found no trace of the injured man. The incident bore all the hallmarks of a settling of scores between criminals.
