British man has been arrested while on holiday on Ibiza on charges of beating his wife while they were staying in a hotel in the Es Canar resort in Santa Eulàlia, on the east of the island.
Officers were called out to the hotel early on Sunday after a caller reported what sounded like a fight in one of the rooms and found the husband there, visibly agitated. The couple’s three children were in another room nearby.
Europa Press reports that the woman had fled to the floor above, where she was found in her underwear, with blood on her hands, chest, feet and legs. She told police that her husband had beaten her and pulled her by the hair.
He was then arrested and the victim was treated at the local health centre before making an official complaint to police.
