The lawyer representing Iñaki Urdangarín, the Duke of Palma, has said that he will not be talking to the press again. Mario Pascual Vives has accused the media of ‘informative fireworks’ in an open judicial process, and he makes the comments after the El País front page on Monday revealed that the Duke faces charges for four crimes, misuse of public funds, perversion of the course of justice, falsification and defrauding the Administration. The paper indicates that he will not be charged however with fiscal fraud. The lawyer said that for now, he will not attend to the media, saying that he was giving them a holiday. ‘I’m giving you a holiday because rain is approaching, and this system which sees you on the streets seems inappropriate. I’m going to declare myself extinct so we can end these informative fireworks. It’s been a pleasure to have been with you, but from now I’m not going to make any more declarations.
