Labels: A Police Inspector and a National Policeman have been arrested after knocking a German woman of her bicycle with their car and then driving off.

The 64 year woman was killed at 10.25 am on Sunday as she was cycling with her husband in a group of cyclists on the Carretera de Cabo Blanco in Lluchmajor. The accident happened close to the Puig d’en Ros urbanisation. The two policemen were travelling in a grey unmarked car at the time, but were arrested later on Sunday at 22,30pm. One of those arrested tested positive for alcohol, and was five times over the legal limit. The two are expected to appear in court on Monday afternoon. The victim, who has been named as Renate D. was on holiday with her husband and was staying in a local hotel. She had come to Mallorca on a cycling holiday.
